How bank connection works

• You need to have an active Pro subscription
• You safely connect your bank account through our audited bank data provider
• We sync your balance and transactions data every day and store them in your Notion workspace. Syncs are made automatically, cannot be manually triggered.
• You can sync unlimited accounts from 1 bank institution. Multiple bank connections will be supported in the future.

Select your bank

Go to Bank accounts screen and follow the steps to connect your bank.

Select your parent page

Once successfully connected your bank, you will be asked to select a parent page in Notion where the Bank accounts and Balance databases will be created. By default, your existing parent page will be already selected, so you can use the same one.

Select your transactions database

Once the new databases have been created, you will need to select a database to store your transactions. If you already have Finances database set up, it will appear as the suggested option.

You will need to have Total and Date values correctly configured in your Finance database before continue.

Finally, the transactions sync process will start. This process can take a while depending on your transactions volume, so you can press on Continue and and relax.

By default, we will sync the current year of transactions from your account. However, there are banks that limit the history of transactions that third-party apps can retrieve. In that case, we will sync the maximum history possible.

Reset your account or connect a different bank

Other issues

Bank connection may be interrupted due to several causes, here are the most frequent ones:

• Magic Beans lost access to Transactions, Balance or Bank account databases. If that’s the case, check your Notion permissions and grant access again.
• Some required fields in Transactions or Balance databases have been deconfigured
• Your Pro subscription plan is expired or cancelled
